New Power DC/DC with Ultra wide (4:1) input from Aimtec

Aimtec unveils a new series of feature rich, high performance 40W DC/DC converters with ultra wide 4:1 input voltage ranges.

Providing input voltage ranges of 9~36Vdc and 18~75Vdc and a tight line/load regulation of ±0.5%, the AM40UW-Z series also features an remote ON/OFF function, output voltage adjustment (trim) and load voltage sensing. Wide industrial operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC supports integration in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications.

Output voltage adjustment and load voltage sensing specifically help to compensate for wire or track voltage losses due to the high current output, maintaining consistently high load voltage accuracy, while the converter can to be controlled remotely from a microprocessor through the ON/OFF function, allowing the load circuit to be indirectly controlled.

Models are available with single output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15VDC, and dual output voltages of ± 12 and ±15VDC while sourcing maximum output currents as high as 10A and efficiency rates as high as 92%.

In addition to over voltage, over current and short circuit protection, the AM40UW-Z features over temperature protection that shuts down the converter to protect the load circuit should the modules case temperature exceed its threshold.

Designed in a compact (2”x2”x0.4”) low profile case with a high power density of 10W/in2, Aimtec’s AM40UW-Z provides a turnkey solution for space critical applications such as battery operated devices and power distribution architectures for industrial and communication applications.

Highly accurate (+/-1.2%), regulated and isolated (1600VDC) single and dual output of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, ±5V, ±12V and ±15VDC are fully protected against short circuit, over voltage and over current, with no minimum load required.

CE approved for EMI standards EN55022 Class A, EN55024, IEC61000-4-2, -4-3, -4-4, -4-5, -4-6 and -4-8 for use in a wide selection of IT, industrial and telecom applications.
